Our client is an organization in the Milwaukee County area that’s looking for a Tax Manager. Our client is looking for someone with 5+ years of experience, excellent leadership skills, and a strong business acumen. This company offers flexibility, a strong, tenured team, and a collaborative environment. This position is hybrid.

 

The salary for this position is up to $135K – $150K.

 

The Tax Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the tax department, overseeing strategy, workflow, quality control, team performance, and timely delivery of client work.
  • Review business and individual tax returns, including C-Corporations, S-Corporations, Partnerships, LLCs, and complex individual filings.
  • Oversee federal and multi-state tax compliance, including nexus, apportionment, state-specific filing requirements, and tax law updates.
  • Develop and deliver proactive tax planning strategies for business owners and clients across multiple entity types.
  • Serve as the primary tax relationship contact, building strong client relationships through proactive communication, consulting, and advisory support.
  • Advise clients on multi-state tax matters, including registration obligations, income, franchise, payroll tax implications, and planning opportunities.
  • Support business owners through exit planning, mergers, acquisitions, succession planning, and transaction structuring to minimize tax exposure.

 

The Tax Manager will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; Master’s in Taxation or MBA preferred; CPA license active & in good standing
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Self-directed and comfortable working independently in a remote-first environment
  • Proven track record of managing client relationships at a senior level
  • Knowledge of UltraTax software preferred
