Billing Manager
Our client is an organization in the Minneapolis area looking for a Billing Manager. Our client is seeking someone with strong billing and accounts receivable experience, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for process improvement and customer service.
The salary range for this position is $100–$120k.
The Billing Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the organization’s billing function, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing for customers and clients.
- Oversee the end-to-end billing cycle, including invoice generation, distribution, adjustments, and collections support.
- Supervise and mentor billing staff, providing training, coaching, and performance management.
- Review billing transactions for accuracy and compliance with customer contracts, pricing agreements, and company policies.
- Resolve complex billing discrepancies, customer inquiries, and account issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Partner with Accounting, Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams to improve billing accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and assist with collection efforts to support healthy cash flow.
- Prepare and analyze billing reports, key performance metrics, and management reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve billing processes, internal controls, and system efficiencies while implementing best practices.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities related to billing and accounts receivable.
- Maintain billing records and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Participate in system implementations, upgrades, testing, and other special projects as needed.
The Billing Manager will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or revenue cycle experience, including prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of billing processes, invoicing, and accounts receivable best practices.
- Experience working with ERP or accounting systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and build relationships with customers.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience developing and documenting efficient billing processes.
