VP of Accounting
Our client is an organization in the Greater Milwaukee area looking for a VP of Accounting. Our client is looking for someone with 10+ years of accounting experience, CPA certification, and strong attention to detail.
The salary for this role will start at $140k +bonus.
The VP of Accounting will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Oversee the preparation and review of internal and external financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures to support consistent and compliant financial reporting.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
- Coordinate annual financial statement audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, due diligence, and integration activities.
- Lead accounting system implementations, ERP enhancements, and process automation initiatives.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting organization.
- Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused culture.
The VP of Accounting will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 10+ years of accounting experience.
- CPA required
- Strong leadership skills with prior management experience.
- Well organized, detail oriented and accurate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
