Our client is an organization in the Madison area looking for a Payroll Specialist. This client is looking for someone with 3+ years of payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and highly organized.

 

The pay range for this position is $65k-75k.

 

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process weekly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including federal, state, and local returns.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including deductions, benefits, and garnishments.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions.
  • Assist with year-end processes, including W-2s and 1099s.
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll regulations and company policies.
  • Support audits and internal controls related to payroll processes.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to update payroll data for new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll and employee information.
  • Additional general duties and special projects as requested/assigned.

 

The Payroll Specialist will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 3+ years of payroll experience.
  • Full cycle payroll processing experience.
  • Union payroll experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
