Our client is an organization in the Greater Milwaukee area looking for a Part-Time HR Generalist. Our client is looking for an experienced, hands-on HR professional who can serve as a trusted resource to employees and managers while independently managing a broad range of human resources responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a smaller, evolving organization where they can provide practical HR guidance, improve processes, and make an impact across the business.

The Part-Time HR Generalist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on a variety of day-to-day workplace matters.
  • Advise managers on employee relations, performance concerns, development opportunities, and other people-related decisions.
  • Support performance management processes and help leaders navigate effective feedback and employee conversations.
  • Provide guidance on corrective action and other sensitive employment matters while promoting consistent HR practices.
  • Review and enhance HR policies, procedures, and documentation as organizational needs evolve.
  • Monitor HR practices for compliance with applicable employment laws and internal policies.
  • Support recruiting efforts across a variety of corporate, operational, and technical positions as hiring needs arise.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and help create a positive and consistent experience for new employees.
  • Provide administrative oversight of the payroll process, including reviewing information and resolving employee or manager questions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure appropriate HR documentation is completed and retained.
  • Coordinate required employee training and assist with broader learning and development initiatives.
  • Partner with managers to identify employee development needs and strengthen overall people management practices.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture initiatives.
  • Work with external HR, payroll, and benefits partners as appropriate to resolve issues and support employees.
  • Identify gaps or opportunities within HR processes and independently develop practical solutions.
  • Support additional HR initiatives and organizational projects as the company continues to grow and evolve.

The Part-Time HR Generalist will possess the following:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Progressive HR Generalist experience with responsibility across multiple areas of human resources.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, HR compliance, and performance management.
  • Experience advising and coaching managers through employee and performance-related situations.
  • Working knowledge of payroll administration and the ability to troubleshoot routine payroll and timekeeping questions.
  • Recruiting and onboarding experience across a variety of position types preferred.
  • Experience developing, implementing, or improving HR policies and procedures.
  • Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive employee matters.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the confidence to provide guidance to managers and employees.
  • Self-directed and proactive with the ability to recognize priorities and take action with limited oversight.
  • Comfortable operating as a broad, hands-on HR resource rather than within a highly specialized HR structure.
  • Experience in a smaller, growing, or entrepreneurial organization is a plus.
  • Adaptable and resourceful with the ability to balance strategic HR needs with day-to-day execution.
