Our client is seeking a part-time (20-30 hours per week) Compensation & Total Rewards Specialist to provide hands-on support within the Total Rewards function in a contract role through the end of 2026. This role will focus primarily on compensation administration, analysis, reporting, and day-to-day operational support, while also assisting with select benefits-related activities.

  • Location: Brown Deer, WI
  • Pay: W-2 employee paid weekly, range is $40-50/hour
  • Hours: 20-30 hours per week
  • At least two days a week onsite and ideally Mondays and Thursdays

The ideal candidate is a resourceful, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working “in the weeds” of compensation and Total Rewards administration. This is not a strategic, design, or leadership role. Instead, this position is best suited for someone who thrives on execution, analysis, research, and supporting business needs through accurate and timely compensation-related work.

Reporting directly to the Director of Total Rewards, this individual will operate with a high degree of autonomy while having access to guidance, support, and collaboration as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Compensation Administration & Analysis
  • Participate in salary surveys and market pricing activities
  • Conduct compensation research and analysis to support compensation requests
  • Assist with job evaluations, benchmarking, and compensation data reporting
  • Compile, analyze, and maintain compensation-related data and reports
  • Support compensation programs and day-to-day administration activities
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and recommendations based on market and internal compensation data
Total Rewards & Benefits Support
  • Assist with benefits administration activities as needed
  • Support annual open enrollment planning, preparation, and administration
  • Respond to employee and stakeholder inquiries related to Total Rewards programs
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compensation and benefits programs
Project & Operational Support
  • Provide general Total Rewards project support
  • Assist with reporting, data validation, and process documentation
  • Support ongoing department initiatives and administrative activities
  • Partner with HR and business stakeholders to gather and organize relevant compensation information

Qualifications
Required
  • 5+ years of experience in Compensation, Total Rewards, HR Operations, or a related analytical function
  • Strong compensation experience, including market pricing, salary surveys, compensation research, or compensation administration
  • Advanced analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred
  • Total Rewards Specialist experience
  • Experience supporting compensation programs in a corporate environment
  • Workday experience
  • Experience with compensation analysis tools and salary survey platforms
  • Backgrounds in compensation analytics, HR reporting, finance, accounting, or other data-driven functions are highly transferable

Ideal Candidate Profile
Successful candidates will be:
  • Hands-on and execution-oriented
  • Comfortable working independently and managing priorities
  • Naturally curious and resourceful when conducting compensation research
  • Strong with data, reporting, and analysis
  • Interested in operational and administrative work rather than compensation strategy or program design
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and willing to support a variety of Total Rewards initiatives
