Senior Tax Associate

The Tax Senior will play a key role in reviewing tax work, managing client relationships, and supporting the development of junior team members. While this position includes hands-on tax preparation, the primary focus is on reviewing returns, ensuring quality, answering technical questions, and helping drive an efficient tax process. The ideal candidate is an experienced public accounting professional who enjoys mentoring others and delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and finalize individual and business tax returns.
- Review tax work for accuracy and compliance before final delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
- Assist with managing tax workflow and identifying process improvements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Assist with complex tax matters and provide strategic guidance to clients.
- Review bookkeeping records and financial information to support tax filings.
- Collaborate with accounting and bookkeeping teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Handle select client engagements from start to finish when needed.
Qualifications
- CPA and/or Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred.
- 3+ years of public accounting tax experience.
- Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns.
- Strong knowledge of: Individual (1040), S Corporation (1120S), C Corporation (1120)
- Experience mentoring or training junior staff is preferred.
- Strong client relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities during busy season.
- Experience with UltraTax or similar tax software is preferred.
- Experience with foreign tax matters or IRS controversies is a plus.
