Financial Risk Manager
Our client is an organization in the Milwaukee area looking for a Financial Risk Manager. Our client is looking for an experienced finance professional who brings a strong combination of treasury and financial risk management experience. This position will play an important role in identifying and managing financial exposures while partnering across the organization on liquidity, cash management, risk mitigation, and broader treasury initiatives.
The salary for this position is up to $160k + bonus.
The Financial Risk Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the organization’s financial risk management strategy across key areas of financial exposure.
- Identify, evaluate, and monitor financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Partner with Treasury and Finance leadership on liquidity, cash management, funding, and risk-related initiatives.
- Monitor market conditions and evaluate potential impacts on the organization’s financial position.
- Assess exposures related to interest rates, foreign currency, liquidity, counterparties, and other financial risks.
- Assist with the development and execution of hedging and other financial risk management strategies.
- Perform financial analysis and develop reporting that provides leadership with visibility into key exposures and trends.
- Support cash forecasting and liquidity planning activities.
- Evaluate financial risk scenarios and provide recommendations to support informed business decisions.
- Maintain and enhance financial risk policies, procedures, controls, and documentation.
- Monitor compliance with established risk limits and internal financial policies.
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, Treasury, and other business functions to ensure financial risks are appropriately identified and managed.
- Maintain relationships with banking partners and other external financial institutions as needed.
- Support treasury projects involving banking, financing, cash management, investments, and related activities.
- Prepare presentations and analysis for senior leadership regarding financial risks, trends, and mitigation strategies.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen treasury processes, risk monitoring, reporting, and internal controls.
- Stay current on market developments, financial risk practices, and regulatory considerations that may impact the organization.
The Financial Risk Manager will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline required.
- Advanced degree or professional certification such as an MBA, CFA, FRM, or CTP is a plus.
- 7–9+ years of progressive experience in finance, treasury, financial risk management, or a related area.
- A combination of treasury and financial risk management experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of liquidity, cash management, financial markets, and treasury principles.
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and managing financial exposures.
- Knowledge of interest rate, foreign currency, liquidity, and counterparty risk preferred.
- Exposure to hedging strategies and financial instruments is a plus.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex financial information and translate findings into clear recommendations.
- Experience developing financial reporting and communicating results to senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, policies, and risk management practices.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Proactive and analytical mindset with the ability to operate both strategically and within the details.
