Our client is an organization in the Minneapolis area that’s looking for a Property Accountant. Our client is looking for someone with 2+ years of experience, has excellent communication skills, and is analytical. This company offers a collaborative team, an inclusive culture, and flexibility. This position is hybrid.

 

The salary for this position is up to $65K – $70K.

 

The Property Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate property accounting records in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Analyze financial statements, budget variances, and key performance metrics to identify trends and discrepancies.
  • Complete required lender, regulatory, and governmental reporting accurately and on schedule.
  • Support annual budgeting, audits, internal controls, and accounting processes across accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and depreciation.
  • Research and resolve accounting inquiries, identify process improvements, and provide support to accounting leadership as needed.

 

The Property Accountant will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of financial accounting experience, preferably in property accounting or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and accounting software systems.
  • Experience with Yardi or similar property accounting software, with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
