Our client is an organization in the Milwaukee area looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner. Our client is looking for an experienced strategic finance professional who can operate as a true business partner within a technology organization. This individual will sit alongside Technology leadership, bring a strong commercial and FP&A perspective to strategic decisions, and help shape investment, pricing, growth, and value-creation priorities across the business.

The Senior Finance Business Partner will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary strategic finance partner to Technology leadership and participate as a member of the senior leadership team.
  • Provide the financial perspective in key business decisions related to growth, investment priorities, product strategy, and operating performance.
  • Partner with technology and product leaders to evaluate investments, resource allocation, and expected returns on major initiatives.
  • Support the development and evaluation of pricing strategies, including SaaS, platform, and other recurring-revenue models.
  • Assess the financial impact and ROI of technology initiatives, product development efforts, and strategic programs.
  • Translate financial and operational data into clear business insights, recommendations, and decision support for senior leaders.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify performance drivers, risks, and opportunities rather than simply reporting historical results.
  • Support strategic planning, forecasting, and long-range financial analysis for the Technology organization.
  • Advise leaders on business cases, scenario planning, tradeoffs, and investment decisions.
  • Help shape growth strategy for technology-enabled products and platforms, including spend management and related offerings.
  • Build strong relationships across Technology, Product, Operations, and Finance to ensure financial thinking is embedded in business decisions.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and bring an independent, commercially minded point of view to leadership discussions.
  • Improve the quality, relevance, and usefulness of financial decision support across the Technology organization.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives where financial analysis and business judgment are critical.

The Senior Finance Business Partner will possess the following:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
  • 12–15+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, business finance, strategic finance, or finance consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as an embedded finance partner within a business unit or functional organization, rather than operating solely in a centralized corporate finance role.
  • Technology-heavy or technology-support experience required.
  • Strong background in FP&A, strategic planning, business case development, investment analysis, and financial decision support.
  • Experience advising senior business leaders on growth strategy, pricing, resource allocation, and return on investment.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to understand business problems and use finance to help solve them.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence with the ability to influence decisions and build credibility with senior leadership.
  • Strong judgment and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations.
  • Comfortable operating at a strategic level without needing to own detailed accounting, close, or reporting processes.
  • Collaborative, curious, and business-oriented with the ability to challenge assumptions while maintaining strong partnerships.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a complex, fast-moving environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
