Senior Accountant
Our client is an organization in the Greater Minneapolis area looking for a Senior Accountant. Our client is looking for an experienced accounting professional with a strong technical foundation and experience working within complex accounting environments. This individual will play an important role in financial reporting, consolidations, and general accounting while partnering across the organization to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
The salary range for this position is $72k–109k.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across multiple entities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting financial schedules.
- Assist with the consolidation of financial results across multiple business units and legal entities.
- Prepare and review intercompany transactions and related elimination entries.
- Support accounting activities involving multiple currencies and ensure transactions are appropriately reflected in consolidated financial results.
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts and investigate unusual activity or variances.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure accounting transactions are appropriately supported.
- Prepare financial reporting schedules and analysis for management and other stakeholders.
- Partner with accounting teams across the organization to resolve reporting, consolidation, and intercompany matters.
- Assist with quarterly and year-end audit activities, including preparation of schedules and responses to auditor requests.
- Ensure accounting activities are performed in accordance with GAAP, internal policies, and established controls.
- Support accounting for complex or non-routine transactions as needed.
- Identify opportunities to streamline close, consolidation, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
- Participate in system, process, and other accounting-related projects.
- Provide guidance and support to other members of the accounting team as needed.
The Senior Accountant will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience required.
- Combination of public accounting and corporate accounting experience strongly preferred, ideally including multiple years in each environment.
- Consolidation experience required, including exposure to multi-entity financial reporting.
- Hands-on experience with intercompany accounting and elimination entries.
- Experience working with foreign currency or multi-currency accounting required.
- Prior experience within a large, complex, or multi-entity organization strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve complex accounting matters.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across accounting teams and business functions.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to take ownership of responsibilities and work independently.
