Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM | 100% onsite



A growing, established service organization in the Waukesha area is looking to add a Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to its accounting and administrative team. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for weekly payroll along with a variety of bookkeeping and general accounting activities.
The position is a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, likes working as part of a smaller team, and wants an opportunity to expand their accounting responsibilities over time. The company is performing well and offers room for growth for someone interested in taking on more.

Responsibilities
  • Process weekly payroll for approximately 50 employees
  • Review employee timekeeping information and follow up on missing or incomplete time entries
  • Reconcile and record payroll-related liabilities
  • Assist with commissions and other payroll-related activity
  • Prepare and record cash deposits
  • Support accounts receivable and customer collection activity
  • Perform traditional bookkeeping and clerical accounting functions
  • Assist with account reconciliations and general ledger activity based on experience
  • Support month-end accounting activities
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Assist the accounting team with additional projects and responsibilities as needed

Qualifications
  • Previous bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, or similar experience
  • Comfortable working within an ERP or accounting software system; QuickBooks experience is helpful but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet recurring deadlines
  • Comfortable following up with employees and customers to resolve outstanding items
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a smaller, hands-on environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and take on additional accounting responsibilities
Candidates with experience in reconciliations, general ledger work, or other staff-level accounting responsibilities are especially encouraged to apply.
