Senior Accountant
Our client is an organization in the Greater Milwaukee area looking for a Senior Accountant. Our client is looking for someone with progressive accounting experience, a strong technical accounting background, and the ability to take ownership of key accounting functions while partnering with leadership to drive operational excellence.
The salary range for this position is $90k–110k.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Lead key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement analyses while investigating and resolving variances.
- Prepare internal financial reports and assist with management reporting and financial analysis.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other general ledger accounts.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc financial analyses.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
- Partner with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
- Participate in ERP implementations, system enhancements, and other finance-related projects as assigned.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting team members as needed.
The Senior Accountant will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
- Experience managing month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- CPA designation or CPA eligibility is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments.
- Self-motivated professional with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
