Our client is an organization in the greater Minneapolis area looking for a Senior Tax Accountant. This company is looking for someone with 3+ years of tax experience, experience preparing federal tax returns, and detail oriented.

The salary for this position is $100-115k.

The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive tax workpapers across a variety of entities, including individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and foundations
  • Support the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax filings to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Assist in calculating and preparing quarterly estimated tax payments
  • Address tax notices and inquiries from regulatory agencies in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors to facilitate efficient and accurate filings
  • Contribute to tax planning strategies and identify opportunities to enhance processes and improve compliance
  • Record and maintain monthly general ledger activity, with a focus on investment and trust accounting
  • Perform account reconciliations, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare financial statements and related supporting documentation
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

 

The Senior Tax Accountant will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Federal tax return experience.
  • Highly detailed oriented.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
