Our client is an organization in the Dane County area that’s looking for a Controller. This company is looking for someone with 5+ years of experience, motivated, and an excellent leader. This company provides a collaborative culture, flexibility, and a strong, tenured team. This position is onsite.

 

The salary for this job is $100K – $150K.

 

The Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close; prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  • Design and maintain allocation methodologies, ensuring consistency, audit support, and scalability.
  • Monitor cash, manage disbursements, and maintain short-term forecasts.
  • Manage AR cycle (invoicing, cash application, collections); ensure accurate billing and ASC 606 compliance.
  • Manage AP cycle, vendor records, and W-9/1099 compliance with strong internal controls.
  • Maintain internal controls, ensure compliance, and lead audit coordination with external partners.
  • Enhance systems and workflows; support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and due diligence.

 

The Controller will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA license (active or inactive) strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Biotech, life sciences, or technical services industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, particularly ASC 606, and hands-on accounting operations.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite).
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
