Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a strategic partner to the CEO, COO, and executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, strategy, and operations. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of corporate finance, operational efficiency, capital structuring, and long-term financial planning. This individual will play a key role in driving sustainable growth, optimizing profitability, and preparing the company for future opportunities including potential M&A, capital events, or liquidity planning.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s long-term goals and growth initiatives.
- Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on all financial matters.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and scenario modeling to support decision-making.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP (or IFRS if applicable).
- Drive cost control, margin optimization, and ROI-focused investment decisions across the organization.
- Lead treasury operations, including cash flow management, debt servicing, and capital allocation.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure effective internal controls, risk management policies, and corporate governance.
- Oversee all audit, tax, legal, and regulatory compliance functions.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
Capital & Investor Relations
- Manage banking relationships, debt financing.
Team Development & Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor key finance personnel and support cross-functional leadership development.
Qualifications
Education & Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field required.
- MBA or CPA/CFA designation preferred.
Experience
- 15+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership, with 5+ years in a CFO or top finance executive role.
- Proven experience in a growth-oriented, multi-site, or multi-division business.
- Experience with M&A, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems, financial analytics, and reporting tools.
