We’re assisting our well-established company in Big Bend with hiring for a temp to hire Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of payroll experience, preferably with exposure to a multi-state and union environment. This position is full-time hours Monday through Friday and also 100% on-site in during the training period. Please apply for immediate consideration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviewing employee time entries and wage calculations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assisting with the processing of payroll across multiple states, including both union and non-union employees.
  • Collaborating with internal departments and third-party partners to ensure timely and accurate payroll runs.
  • Supporting audits and maintaining payroll records, including updates for new hires, terminations, and changes.
  • Managing deductions such as garnishments, benefits, and retirement contributions.
  • Preparing and submitting reports to support internal stakeholders and union-related requirements.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • 2+ years of payroll and/or accounting experience in a multi-state organization.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in payroll and software, with experience using ADP software preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for employee interaction and issue resolution.
