Our client is a large, global publicly traded professional services company that is looking for a Senior Technical Accounting Manager to their team! Work arrangements: Hybrid; 3 days a week in office (NW suburb or downtown Chicago office locations)

Salary range: $145K-165K + 20% bonus

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical accounting research on complex issues, preparing detailed memos and documentation to inform management decision-making.
  • Oversee purchase accounting activities related to acquisitions and divestitures, including intangible asset valuation and ensuring correct accounting conclusions.
  • Develop and enforce accounting policies, ensuring consistency with US GAAP across teams.
  • Build relationships with departments including corporate accounting, legal, IT, FP&A, and HR to assess and address accounting implications of business transactions.
  • Lead internal training initiatives on accounting policies and emerging topics to upskill the organization.
  • Stay updated on emerging accounting trends, regulations, and best practices to proactively address their impacts.
  • Provide support to external auditors as required, ensuring smooth audit processes.
  • Take the lead or participate in key special projects, such as the implementation of new accounting standards.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA required.
  • 8+ years of technical accounting experience, with Big Four experience strongly desired.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present conclusions to senior leadership.

  • Extensive understanding of US GAAP and experience with stock-based compensation plans, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to a fast-paced environment.
