Our client in the greater Milwaukee area is looking for a VP of Tax. This client is looking for someone with 15+ years of related experience, CPA, and highly organized.
The VP of Tax will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage preparation and completion of federal, state, and international income tax returns, including supporting analysis and documentation.
- Oversee income tax accounting for U.S. and international subsidiaries.
- Optimize the company’s effective tax rate, including oversight of R&D tax credits.
- Lead U.S. and international tax planning projects, including legal entity reorganizations, structuring, global operating models, financing, and transfer pricing.
- Evaluate and manage the impact of U.S. tax reform and other regulatory changes.
- Support M&A due diligence, structuring, and post-acquisition integration.
- Manage calculations of tax attributes and items related to foreign corporations.
- Oversee indirect tax compliance, including sales, use, and property tax filings.
- Direct defense of international, federal, and state income tax audits, as well as state and local sales & use tax audits.
- Administer transfer pricing arrangements.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop professional staff, setting clear goals and aligning team objectives with company strategy.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and liaison to management and cross-functional teams on tax-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements related to income tax accounting.
- Manage and minimize cash tax payments through proactive planning.
- Drive talent management within the tax function, including performance management, succession planning, recognition, and continuous development.
- Ad hoc projects as needed.
The VP of Tax will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field
- 15+ years of tax and/or accounting experience.
- CPA
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
