Our client is an organization in the Winnebago County area that’s looking for a VP of Accounting. Our client is looking for someone with 5+ years of experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and someone who is driven. This company offers a dedicated team, a collaborative culture, and competitive benefits. This position is onsite.

 

The salary for this position is $85K – $105K.

 

The VP of Accounting will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all accounting and finance operations, including ALM, CECL, AP/AR, payroll, budgeting, collections, GL, financial reporting, investments, and taxes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements; manage external audits and regulatory exams.
  • Direct liquidity management, interest rate risk, and balance sheet optimization through sound asset/liability management and investment strategies.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, provide variance analysis, and present insights and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls and conduct periodic internal audits to mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial statements and board reporting packages, supporting strategic decision-making through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Build, mentor, and lead finance and accounting teams, fostering professional development, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

The VP of Accounting will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
  • 5+ years of progressive financial leadership.
  • Expert-level knowledge of GAAP, NCUA regulations, and financial institution operations.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Superior leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with enterprise-level financial systems, core banking systems, and data analytics tools.
  • Occasional travel is required for conferences, training, or board meetings.
