Our client is an organization in the Madison area looking for an Accountant. Our client is looking for someone with accounting experience, strong analytical skills and detail oriented.

 

This is a remote position. You must live within 60 miles of Madison, WI to be considered.

 

The salary range for this position is $65k-80k.

 

The accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee accounts payable activities, including monitoring incoming invoices, coordinating approvals, recording transactions in the accounting system, and preparing routine vendor payment runs.
  • Support purchasing and inventory functions by processing purchase order receipts in the accounting system and participating in physical inventory counts or audits as required.
  • Assist with accounts receivable operations, including posting daily cash receipts, responding to customer billing and payment inquiries, supporting invoicing for projects and revenue activities, preparing credit memos, and assisting with statements and collection efforts.
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, such as accounts receivable, customer deposits, and accounts payable, with a solid understanding of debit and credit activity. Identify discrepancies and collaborate with the accounting team on corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records related to company purchasing cards and ensure compliance with internal policies.
  • Organize and maintain accounting and legal documentation across systems such as SharePoint, OneNote, and the CRM platform.
  • Provide support during the month-end close process, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy.
  • Collaborate proactively with colleagues across departments to support shared goals, initiatives, and accounting needs.
  • Participate in special projects and contribute ideas to improve processes, controls, and overall team efficiency.

 

The Accountant will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field preferred
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Remote experience preferred.
  • Must live within 60 miles of Madison, WI.
  • High detail of attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
