Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the operational and compliance needs of their growing organization. This individual will play a key role in handling accounting functions, assisting with legal documentation, and supporting property transitions across a real estate portfolio. This position offers exposure to both accounting and legal support responsibilities, with the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret contracts, leases, and other legal documents.
- Proofread and edit a variety of business and legal documents including contracts, leases, and internal policies.
- Support internal efforts to enhance workflows and improve existing operational processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely accounts receivable processing.
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of credit card transactions.
- Record recurring journal entries to support general ledger accuracy and financial statement preparation.
- Prepare and file annual reports and maintain entity records.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Literature, or a related field preferred but not required.
- 3–5 years of experience in an accounting-focused role, ideally within a real estate, construction, or multi-entity environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in legal writing and document interpretation required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate clearly across teams.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proactive mindset with a strong ability to problem-solve independently and collaboratively.
- Flexible and adaptable to change, with a commitment to continuous improvement and team development.
