Our client is an organization in the greater Milwaukee area looking for a Senior Tax Accountant. This company is looking for someone with 3+ years of tax experience, CPA or EA, and great interpersonal skills. The salary for this position is $75-95k.

 

The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local income tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of tax provisions, deferred tax assets/liabilities, and uncertain tax positions in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Research complex tax issues, monitor changes in tax law, and assess potential impacts on the business.
  • Assist with tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and support long-term business goals.
  • Manage sales/use tax compliance, property tax filings, and other indirect tax matters as required.
  • Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and responding to tax inquiries.
  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, and external advisors to ensure alignment on tax matters.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of tax reporting.
  • Mentor and guide junior tax staff, reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

 

The Senior Tax Accountant will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • CPA or EA required.
  • Highly detailed oriented.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
