Senior Indirect Tax Analyst

The salary for this role is $80k-110k +bonus.
The Indirect Tax Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee U.S. sales and use tax compliance processes, including the classification of taxable and exempt transactions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external tax advisors to maintain compliance across all domestic indirect tax obligations.
- Lead the implementation and optimization of tax calculation and reporting software, coordinating closely with users and consultants.
- Manage audits related to sales and use tax, personal property tax, and real estate tax, serving as the primary point of contact.
- Conduct research and provide guidance on complex tax issues related to new business initiatives, transactions, or projects.
- Monitor and assess legislative changes in sales and use tax laws and coordinate updates to internal systems and processes as needed.
- Partner with business units to identify opportunities to improve tax accuracy and efficiency, and assist in resolving any disputes.
- Maintain and manage all indirect tax registrations across U.S. jurisdictions and evaluate potential nexus implications.
- Coordinate monthly and quarterly reconciliations of domestic indirect tax accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
The Indirect Tax Accountant will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an indirect tax role, either in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
- Proven expertise in U.S. indirect taxes, including sales and use tax, property tax, real estate tax, and excise tax.
- Strong understanding of domestic tax regulations; international tax experience (e.g., VAT, GST) is not required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Reliable and consistent performer who is comfortable in a stable, execution-focused role without the need for rapid upward mobility.
- Flexibility to work remotely with a willingness to travel to the Racine office periodically—ideally once a month, though weekly visits are welcome.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams and outside advisors as needed.

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rule governing the program.
