A well-established organization in Franklin is seeking a temp to hire Payroll Specialist to start immediately. This is full-time hours Monday through Friday and fully in-office position. The ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years of prior payroll processing experience, strong communication skills and high attention to detail. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer biweekly payroll for 110 employees, reviewing timesheets and maintaining accurate pay rates across projects.
- Update and monitor payroll master data, including address, wage, transfer, and direct deposit changes.
- Process deductions and garnishments, including child support, loan repayments, and short-term disability payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage retroactive pay adjustments, PTO tracking and payouts, and ensure accurate benefit and tax reporting.
- Reconcile quarterly payroll tax returns and remit 401(k) contributions to the plan administrator.
- Support timekeeping system administration, including employee setup, troubleshooting, and equipment issues.
- Possible accounting tasks as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, HR or a related field preferred; relevant work experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with ERP systems preferred) and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
