The Payroll Associate is responsible for the weekly compiling and processing of in-house payroll for 600+ employees. If this position has supervisory responsibilities, check here.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review weekly timesheets to ensure all employees are paid accurately in accordance with agreements
• Process ACH and employee pay stubs
• Update employee information in payroll accounting software
• Report and reconcile multi-Union benefits
• Report and reconcile multi-state and Federal employee taxes
• Process employee child support and garnishments
• Assist with state and union audits
• Address inquiries from employees, unions, and taxing authorities
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
• High school diploma or equivalent and 2-5 years of advanced payroll. College level courses in payroll, accounting, or business preferred.
• Experience processing payroll in construction industry preferred
. • Familiarity with Viewpoint software a plus.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and in a team-oriented environment.
• Exercises discretion and maintains confidentiality
WORKING ENVIRONMENT This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
