Our client is a non-profit organization south of downtown Milwaukee and they’re seeking a part-time Bookkeeper/Accountant with strong QuickBooks experience for a long-term contract (at least a year) to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Accounting, has managed bookkeeping for multiple clients and has at least 5 years of QuickBooks experience. The position is in the office and 24 hours per week. The ideal schedule would be Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please apply for immediate consideration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record bank transactions, prepare vendor payments with proper documentation, collect W-9s, process disbursements, post journal entries, and collaborate with staff on adjusting and reclassification entries.
- Prepare and send monthly invoices, track accounts receivable and billings, calculate commissions, and process payroll.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and highlights, perform account and bank reconciliations, reconcile subscriptions to billings, and review AP for proper 1099 classification.
- Prepare quarterly pension reports, file annual 1099s and sales tax returns, review W-2s, and assist with financial reporting.
- Monitor grant funding and expenditures to ensure accurate tracking and compliance.
- Other accounting duties as assigned by the CFO.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- At least 5 years of bookkeeper or accountant experience required.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting required.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks required.
- Non-profit experience a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
