Operations Finance Manager
Our client is an organization in the Madison area looking for an Operations Finance Manager. Our client is looking for someone with 5+ years of relevant experience, strong interpersonal skills with he ability to build business partnerships and who are proactive with a sense of urgency.
The salary range for this position is $120k-125k +bonus.
The Operations Finance Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the financial lead for plant operations, owning all related reporting and serving as a key liaison between Operations and cross-functional departments.
- Lead month-end close activities for cost including preparation of journal entries and validation of system-generated data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze purchasing and inventory transactions to identify and explain variances between actual and standard costs.
- Oversee inventory management processes.
- Reconcile inventory balances between sub-ledger systems and the general ledger on a monthly basis.
- Prepare detailed reporting and profitability analysis by product line.
- Monitor and investigate significant cost variances, partnering with operations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular reviews of general ledger activity to ensure proper classification and identify unusual or unexpected transactions.
- Perform ongoing comparisons of actual results to budget and forecast.
- Deliver timely reporting to plant leadership, including daily labor metrics and weekly overhead spending analysis.
- Identify and drive cost reduction and productivity improvement opportunities to mitigate inflationary pressures and enhance margins.
- Prepare and present monthly operations reviews, clearly communicating financial results, key variances, and recommended actions.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including annual planning and periodic updates to reflect current business conditions.
- Maintain and update standard costs and product pricing within financial systems to ensure accurate reporting and decision-making.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects to support operations and leadership priorities.
The Operations Finance Manager will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or closely related field.
- 5+ years of accounting and finance experience.
- Understanding of cost accounting standards.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work with global partners.
- CPA license is preferred.
- Prior leadership experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
