Our client is an organization in the Dane County area looking for a Lead Accountant. Our client is looking for someone with 5+ years of experience, organized, and driven. This company offers professional growth & development, competitive benefits, and flexibility. This position is hybrid.

 

The Lead Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a subject matter expert on complex accounting, GAAP, and regulatory issues.
  • Lead the research and implementation of evolving accounting standards and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Conduct advanced financial analysis, identifying root causes, trends, and performance variances.
  • Review and validate financial data, including budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
  • Support internal and external reporting, including materials for investors and the board of directors.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of internal controls and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Assists with other duties and projects as assigned.

 

The Lead Accountant will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business, Accounting, or related field. CPA preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures of the utility industry.
  • 5+ years related experience in accounting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Fast learner, who is adaptable to changing financial accounting technologies.
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities and skills.
