Internal Auditor
Our client is an organization in the Dane County area that’s looking for an Internal Auditor. Our client is looking for someone with 2+ years of experience, who is independent, and has excellent communication skills. The salary for this position is $70k – $90k.
The Internal Auditor will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in planning and executing internal audit projects to assess operational efficiency, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Document audit procedures, testing results, findings, and recommendations clearly and accurately in audit workpapers.
- Help identify and evaluate key financial and operational risks through risk-based audit assessments.
- Contribute to the preparation of clear, concise audit reports summarizing findings and recommended improvements.
- Support follow-up activities to monitor the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to gather data and understand business processes.
- Assists with other duties and projects as assigned.
The Internal Auditor will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or internal audit role.
- Experience in a regulated utility environment is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of internal control frameworks (e.g. Sarbanes Oxley).
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, and audit-related software tools.
