We are immediately seeking an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager for our mid-sized client in Waukesha. This is an interim/temp opportunity set for 2-3 months. This role will partner closely with leadership to provide financial insights, strengthen processes, and support operational decision-making. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, experience working in a construction or field services environment, and comfort working within ERP and operational management systems.

This is 100% in-office in Waukesha, standard business hours Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly close process and prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Monitor cash activity and assist with cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and cost oversight.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis while partnering with leadership on financial planning.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls while ensuring compliance with tax filings, audit requests, and accounting policies.
  • Provide oversight and support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and related accounting processes.
  • Work with ERP and service management systems to support payroll, job costing, billing, and financial reporting activities.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger knowledge.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Background in construction, project-based, or field service organizations strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, inventory/WIP management, and GAAP reporting.
  • Prior supervisory experience desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA is a plus.
