We’re seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our large manufacturer in Hartford on a temporary basis through mid-January. This position blends both FP&A and accounting work — ideal for someone who’s analytical, self-sufficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. This position is full-time, standard business hours and hybrid with in-office days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. And Mondays and Fridays are remote. Please apply for immediate consideration.

Responsibilities
  • Support month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis (gross margin, capex, SG&A).
  • Prepare financial reporting and commentary to help leadership understand performance against forecast and prior periods.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting by partnering with department leaders and leveraging historical and trend data.
  • Provide capital asset reporting and assist with fixed asset reviews or related projects.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in Excel and reporting efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Accounting or FP&A.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (formulas, file automation, and efficiency improvements; no macros required).
  • Proven ability to work independently and check one’s own work.
  • Attention to detail, deadline-driven, and willing to work some overtime as needed.
  • Experience with journal entries a plus.
  • Exposure to manufacturing or cost accounting environments preferred.
