Our client is an organization in the Anoka County area that’s looking for a Director of Accounting. Our client is looking for someone with 6+ years of experience, organized, and has excellent communication skills. The salary for this position is $120k – $180k.

 

The Director of Accounting will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for operation and oversight of general ledger financial accounting functions across multiple ERP systems, ensuring timely and accurate monthly account reconciliations.
  • Timely monthly financial close and partnership with finance leadership to deliver timely, complete, and accurate trial balances in accordance with GAAP.
  • Monitor and develop a process of analytics to explain monthly fluctuations in trial balances, comparative to budget, (re)forecast, prior year, and trends.
  • Oversee and maintain proper system of internal controls over the financial reporting process.
  • Lead research and interpretation of GAAP and other authoritative guidance. Monitor changes in GAAP, develop new accounting policies, and recommend actions as needed.
  • Plan, organize and partner with finance leadership to coordinate the year-end close process and annual audit, with objective of no control deficiencies or accounting adjustments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

The Director of Accounting will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 6+ years of related experience (2+ years manufacturing/distribution experience).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, specifically consolidations and foreign currency translation.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial consolidation modules, such as, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, S2K, etc.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.
  • CPA, CMA, or other appropriate certification preferred.
  • Previous work experience in accounting/finance in a multi-unit domestic and foreign company preferred.
