Our client is an organization in the greater Milwaukee area looking for a Cost Accounting Manager. Our client is looking for someone with 5+ years of cost accounting experience, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead a team.
The salary range for this position is $120k-165k.
The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and oversee period-end close activities related to cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing operations
- Evaluate product costing structures, including material, labor, and overhead components, to support accurate margin analysis
- Maintain and update standard costing methodologies and analyze variances to support informed business decisions
- Oversee accounting for fixed assets and leases, ensuring proper capitalization, depreciation, and regulatory compliance
- Establish, maintain, and document accounting policies and procedures to support consistency and audit preparedness
- Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Production teams to improve cost tracking, visibility, and controls
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, standardize workflows, and enhance efficiency within the finance function
- Support internal and external audit activities by providing clear documentation and ensuring adherence to GAAP
- Collaborate with FP&A and IT teams to enhance reporting capabilities, data accuracy, and analytical tools
- Contribute to broader finance transformation initiatives, including systems and process enhancements
- Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members, promoting professional growth and high performance
The Cost Accounting Manager will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field required.
- 5+ years of cost accounting experience
- Manufacturing background required
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
