Controller
Our client is an organization in the Dane County area that’s looking for a Controller. This company is looking for someone with 8+ years of experience, motivated, and an excellent leader. This company provides a laidback culture, flexibility, and a collaborative, tenured team. This position is onsite.
The salary for this job is $115K – $125K.
The Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently oversee all accounting and financial operations for multiple entities.
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare and maintain monthly internal financial statements and management reports for ownership.
- Ensure compliance with multi-state sales tax requirements, including preparation and filing of sales tax returns.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including workers’ compensation, insurance plans, and the company 401(k) program.
- Establish and maintain internal controls, including periodic reviews of cash activity and financial records.
- Support HR administrative functions such as employee onboarding, benefits enrollment, and payroll system setup using ADP.
- Partner with ownership by providing financial insights, reporting, and operational support as needed.
The Controller will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA preferred.
- 8+ years of related experience.
- Must be a good self-starter and able to work autonomously.
- Strong organization, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines with shifting priorities.
