Our client is an organization in the Rochester area that’s looking for a Controller. This company is looking for someone with 5+ years of experience, inquisitive, and an excellent leader. This company provides a great work/life balance, flexibility, and a collaborative, tenured team. This position is hybrid.

 

The salary for this job is $120K – $140K.

 

The Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting for multiple entities, including journal entries, general ledger analysis, month-end close, and timely account reconciliations.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, providing variance analysis and partnering with management to support financial planning and decision-making.
  • Manage treasury and cash flow reporting, preparing daily/weekly cash forecasts, monitoring liquidity, and identifying financial risks and opportunities.
  • Support financial reporting and modeling, assisting with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and complex financial models.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accurate processing, timely payments and collections, and review of aging reports.
  • Execute and reconcile intercompany transactions, ensuring accuracy across entities and preparing periodic intercompany reports for management.
  • Ensure sales and use tax compliance, including filings, remittances, exemption certificate maintenance, and tax account reconciliations.

 

The Controller will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years experience in accounting, preferably within the financial services, private equity, real estate, or venture capital sectors.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with financial reporting, tax planning, auditing, and budgeting.
  • Strong organization, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines with shifting priorities.
