Our client is an organization in the Madison area looking for a part-time Chief Financial Officer. Our client is looking for someone with 7+ years of experience with an analytical and process improvement mindset.

 

This role is part time, 12-15 hours a week.

The salary for this role is $48-$58/hr.

 

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor management.
  • Manage and reconcile organizational credit cards on a monthly basis.
  • Oversee and review school program reconciliations for five schools, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Ensure accounting practices align with GAAP standards and organizational policies.
  • Prepare financial reports, analyses, and presentation materials for three Board meetings per year, tailoring content to Board and committee needs.
  • Partner with leadership to respond to Board questions and support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Lead financial forecasting efforts, with increasing emphasis on scenario planning and forward-looking analysis.
  • Support financial compliance requirements, including internal controls, audits, and regulatory reporting as applicable.

 

The Chief Financial Officer will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field.
  • 7-10 years of related experience.
  • Must live within 50 miles of Madison, WI.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical and process improvement mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
