As the Assistant Controller, you’ll manage a four-person team, oversee financial reporting, and run the audit process for a leading nonprofit organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end close processes, including preparing financial reports, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and indirect cost allocations.
  • Oversee annual audits, collaborating with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Provide hands-on supervision, training, and mentorship to accounting staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve accounting theory and financial statement issues.
  • Support system training and ensure proper use of MS Dynamics GP.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Accounting & CPA required.
  • 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience at a nonprofit organization or with nonprofit clients at a public accounting firm.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in an accounting department.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration and team success.
