Our client is looking for temporary accounting support to start immediately! This role will focus on cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on and enjoys the manufacturing industry. This is 100% on-site, 40 hours/week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements
  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Manage cost accounting, including tracking labor, materials, and production costs
  • Maintain and analyze inventory records, including reconciliations and support of cycle counts
  • Monitor plant performance by comparing actuals to budget and forecasts
  • Partner with Operations and Purchasing to ensure accurate inventory valuation and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Handle bank reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Support sales tax reporting and compliance requirements
  • Assist with capital expenditure tracking and reporting
  • Work with external partners on audits and tax preparation

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field); equivalent experience considered
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory processes
  • Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
  • Experience with accounting/ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
