The position will work closely with the Controller and Accounting Coordinator to ensure financial activity is recorded accurately and operations continue smoothly during the leave period. The assignment is expected to last approximately six months with potential overlap before and after the leave for training and transition.
This role may also offer the opportunity to take on more advanced accounting work depending on experience.
Work Environment
- 100% on-site in a professional office located in Milwaukee’s Third Ward
- Parking available nearby (partial reimbursement may be provided)
- Small, collaborative accounting team environment
- Record and reconcile credit card activity, allocating purchases across multiple locations and cost centers
- Monitor daily cash activity and assist with cash tracking and reconciliation
- Process accounts payable invoices and prepare payments
- Issue checks and support vendor payment processes
- Assist with journal entries and other general ledger support
- Reconcile tuition payments across multiple school locations
- Support accurate financial recordkeeping and reporting
- Provide backup support for payroll processing if needed
- Maintain organized documentation and assist with accounting projects as assigned
- Experience in accounting, accounts payable, or bookkeeping
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online strongly preferred
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a small accounting team
While this role is being hired to support a maternity leave, there may be an opportunity for the assignment to evolve into a permanent position for the right candidate.
