Controller
Our client is an organization in the Kenosha area looking for a Controller. This company is looking for someone with 7+ years of related experience, property management experience, and strong leadership skills.
The salary range for this position is $150-200k.
The Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, job costing, accounts payable, fixed assets, journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; ensure timely and accurate reporting and departmental financial analysis.
- Monitor management company financial performance against budget and analyze variances.
- Oversee disbursements and transfer to vendors.
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Oversee monthly insurance billing.
- Serve as a liaison to external accountants and tax preparers.
- Lead, mentor and develop accounting team.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
The Controller will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field required
- 7+ years of finance experience
- Experience in property management or real estate industry
- CPA preferred
- Proficiency with AppFolio
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
