Senior Accountant
Our client is an organization in Hennepin County area looking for a Senior Accountant. This company is looking for someone with 3+ years of direct insurance accounting experience.
The salary range for this position is $75k-$95k.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and review complex financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, year-end closing processes.
- Maintain and reconcile complex general ledger accounts.
- Perform detailed account analyses and reconciliations.
- Supervise the processing of invoices, expenses and payment transactions.
- Supervise the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze budget variances and provide insight to management.
- Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits.
- Prepare audit schedules, respond to auditor inquires.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes.
- Supervise, monitor, and support accounting staff.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and readily available for audits and reviews.
- Ad hoc projects as needed.
The Senior Accountant will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience. Must have insurance accounting experience
- Experience in effectively managing staff
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
