Lead Accountant
Our client is an organization in the Dane County area looking for a Lead Accountant. Our client is looking for someone with 5+ years of experience, organized, and driven. This company offers professional growth & development, competitive benefits, and flexibility. This position is hybrid.
The Lead Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a subject matter expert on complex accounting, GAAP, and regulatory issues.
- Lead the research and implementation of evolving accounting standards and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Conduct advanced financial analysis, identifying root causes, trends, and performance variances.
- Review and validate financial data, including budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
- Support internal and external reporting, including materials for investors and the board of directors.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of internal controls and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Assists with other duties and projects as assigned.
The Lead Accountant will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s Degree Business, Accounting, or related field. CPA preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures of the utility industry.
- 5+ years related experience in accounting.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Fast learner, who is adaptable to changing financial accounting technologies.
- Demonstrated analytical capabilities and skills.
