AR / Staff Accountant
Our client is an organization in the Dane County area that’s looking for an AR / Staff Accountant. Our client is looking for someone with 2+ years of experience, independent, and organized. This company offers flexibility, a collaborative team, and a relaxed, professional office environment. This position is hybrid.
The salary for this position is $50k – $55k.
The AR / Staff Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apply and reconcile all incoming cash receipts and outgoing payments, ensuring accuracy between bank and book records.
- Complete daily customer invoicing (service, manufacturing, and progress billings) and deliver via email or customer portals.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in bank transactions and customer payments.
- Manage collections, including following up on past-due invoices, conducting monthly AR aging reviews, and enforcing credit controls/order holds.
- Request, issue, and maintain documentation for credit/debit memos, sales tax exemptions, and compliance requirements.
- Release customer orders upon receipt of required down payments.
- Perform monthly GL account reconciliations related to accounts receivable and cash.
The AR / Staff Accountant will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
- 2+ years Accounts Receivable or collections experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment (Infor Visual preferred).
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Works well independently as well as within a team.
- Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills a must.
