Our client is an organization in the Winnebago County area looking for a Controller. This company is looking for someone with 6+ years of experience, who is inquisitive, and an excellent leader. This company provides a collaborative culture, high visibility, and competitive benefits. This position is onsite.

 

The salary for this job is $120k – $125k.

 

The Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the general ledger system and closing processes.
  • Post month-end entries and reconcile accounts to ensure accurate financial statements.
  • Maintain compliance with Sales and Use Tax regulations.
  • Oversee inventory valuation, fixed asset tracking, and treasury management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead implementation strategies.
  • Serve as a key liaison with auditors and ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, ensuring their professional growth and success.

 

The Controller will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience supervising an accounting department preferred.
  • Public accounting and manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables.
  • High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
