Our client is a global, publicly traded professional services company that is looking for a Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting & Consolidations to join their team! This role will be responsible for overseeing the global financial consolidation process and ensuring accurate financial reporting across more than 150 legal entities. This is a high exposure role and the company offers a ton of opportunity to move and grow internally, strong benefits, hybrid work arrangements and offices in Northbrook & downtown Chicago.

 

Salary range: $130,000 – $170,000 base salary (based on experience and qualifications) + 20% annual bonus target

Work arrangements: 3 days on-site with offices in the NW suburbs and downtown Chicago

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly global consolidation process, including intercompany transactions and eliminations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
  • Oversee key financial close activities, such as managing the global close calendar, reviewing consolidation journal entries, and performing analytical reviews of monthly and quarterly results.
  • Maintain internal controls and collaborate with various teams, including FP&A, regional accounting, internal audit, and external auditors.
  • Drive efficiency and accuracy in the financial close process by leading corporate finance and accounting initiatives.
  • Manage system enhancements and automation projects related to financial and management reporting.
  • Provide accounting guidance on complex transactions and lead discussions on financial analysis with senior leadership.
  • Oversee the global chart of accounts, ensuring proper alignment with financial statements and coordination with other departments.
  • Review key account reconciliations and perform monthly foreign exchange transaction analysis.
  • Support internal audit functions to enhance policies and ensure SOX compliance.
  • Mentor and develop team members by setting clear goals, providing performance feedback, and fostering career growth.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting required; CPA required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 6+ years in corporate consolidations.
  • Experience in a multinational organization with global accounting operations.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with large ERP and financial consolidation platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop professional accounting teams.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with BI reporting, SmartView, or dashboard-building tools is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to support global operations outside standard U.S. business hours when needed.
