Our client is an organization in the Madison area looking for a Director of Accounting.

Our client is looking for someone with 8+ years of accounting experience, management experience and strong attention to detail. This company offers strong benefits, a tenured team and flexible work environment.

 

The salary range for this position is $150k-170k +bonus.

 

The Director of Accounting will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide oversight and leadership of financial accounting support functions.
  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Oversee preparation and compliance of the FERC filings.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
  • Direct accounting team in the general accounting functions.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Mange, mentor and develop a high performing accounting team.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team.
  • Participate in development and execution of organizations financial strategy.
  • Lead the implementation of new accounting systems.
  • Work closely with other departments.
  • Provide financial guidance and support for key decision-makers.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

 

The Director of Accounting will possess the following:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • 8+ years of accounting experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Well organized, detail oriented and accurate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
