Our client is a large, publicly traded services company that is currently looking for a Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager to join their team! Responsibilities:
- The Technical Accounting & External Reporting Manager will manage the preparation of the Company’s financial statements, note disclosures and MD&A for both annual and quarterly reporting to the SEC in accordance with US GAAP standards and SEC regulations.
- Prepare technical accounting memorandums to support the financial accounting and reporting treatment for new, material, complex and/or unusual transactions or arrangements.
- Manage complex accounting areas such as pensions, revenue recognition, and others.
- Provide consultation and execution support to various functional areas on complex events and transactions.
- Interact with external auditors on technical accounting issues and assist in the support of all annual audits and quarterly reviews.
- Monitor, assess, and implement new accounting pronouncements applicable to the Company.
- Manage and support the development of direct and indirect reports through coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities.
- Actively participate in strategic projects related to capital structure activity, acquisitions and divestitures, and other corporate initiatives.
- The Technical Accounting & External Reporting Manager will perform other duties and work on special projects as needed.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA required.
- 5+ years’ of progressive accounting experience. Big 4 or large public accounting firm experience highlyy preferred.
- 1+ years of management experience required.
- Detailed knowledge of US GAAP standards and SEC reporting, financial statements, internal controls and SOX requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel. Experience with large, integrated financial management/accounting systems.
