Tax Director
Our client is an organization in the Winnebago County area looking for a Tax Director. Our client is looking for someone with 8+ years of experience, organized, and analytical. This company offers a collaborative team, competitive benefits, and is a thriving organization. This position is onsite.
The salary for this position is $110k – $150k.
The Tax Director will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and implements tax strategies that optimize the company’s tax position while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Oversees all aspects of tax planning, including strategic tax planning initiatives.
- Manages the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns, including income, sales/use, payroll, and specialty taxes.
- Conducts regular reviews of tax provisions and financial statements.
- Builds and maintains direct relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate compliance and minimize tax risks.
- Guides and supports other departments on tax-related matters, including financial reporting, project development/budgeting, strategic planning, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
The Tax Director will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or any combination of education and professional experience. Master’s degree in Taxation or CPA designation preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in a corporate tax department or national public accounting firm.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant tax preparation and research software.
- Exceptional communication skills.
