Our client is a large accounting firm that is looking for a Tax Director to join their team. They are looking for someone who can step into that Partner role in the next couple years. This person will work a hybrid schedule.
The Tax Director will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
· The Tax Director will establish and manage company tax related procedures and documentation.
· Perform tax research with the ability to monitor pending or enacted tax law changes and evaluate significance and impacts to clients and prospects.
· Experience dealing with C-Corporations and S-Corporations including set up, tax operations, mechanics, conversions, liquidations, and planning.
· Experience with choice of entity considerations.
· Understand Partnership tax mechanics and the ability to identify partnership tax issues for delegation of required research.
· Understand individual Federal and state tax laws relating to high net worth business owners; willingness to review tax compliance for high net worth owners and develop tax planning considerations.
· Ability and desire to market the Firm and generate tax service fees and new clients.
· Desire to train and develop tax staff, and delegate and manage tax projects.
· The Tax Director will perform ad-hoc tax projects and analysis as needed.
The Tax Director will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
· The Tax Director will have 10+ years’ public accounting experience.
· Demonstrated leadership and/or management experience.
· Thorough technical knowledge of US tax rules and accounting for income taxes.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and experience with tax software.
· The Tax Director will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Tax.
· CPA required.
